Jazz by the Lake (JBTL), the LZHS band’s annual dinner/live music celebration, was a night to be remembered!
This year’s soiree swung into gear at the Royal Melbourne Country Club paying homage to the Jazz Band’s upcoming trip to New Orleans with a vibrant Carnival theme. Festive beads and masks adorned the tables, and fun and fellowship ensued even while our very own Jazz Band Director, Josh Thompson, and his wife cut a mean rug to one of the band’s most lively numbers.
As always, the music of the LZHS Jazz Ensemble was the highlight of the evening, followed closely by a delicious dinner, photo booth, raffle ticket sales, and a successful silent auction fundraiser. Thanks in part to record-breaking participation, a grand total of $10,000 was raised. This money will be put to good use for all aspects of the LZHS band.
For those of you who participated in Jazz By the Lake this year, thank you for your continued support of the D95 Band Program!
For those of you who spent days, weeks, and even months organizing this event – WELL DONE! Thank you for a lovely evening!
A few masked celebrants, who, in the spirit of Carnival, shall remain nameless!
